My Alter Ego

Starman1984 is the name of my alter ego. I had a consciousness altering experience where I came face to face with a being, or personality in 1984. This being or person appeared to be the oldest and yet the youngest thing in the world. It was me and it was Other than me. And all it wanted was my love. But it did not demand anything. Since then I have received impressions and information about being, the mind, consciousness and life in general. Most times it gives me quotes, or well-formed and to the point sentences concerning the subject I love most, consciousness. I created this blog to share them with you.

The New World Dictionary defines alter ego as another aspect of yourself. Another meaning for alter ego is that it is a very close friend, or constant companion. When we look at, or consider this in the light of consciousness; we immediately see that this is true. There is something which is constant with your idea of yourself. You feel it all the time. This is to say you feel, or sense a PRESENCE in and around you. It's as if someone is watching you. Indeed we've been told since we were children that God is watching us because he is everywhere.

Substitute the word God or Allah, or Great Spirit, etc., with consciousness --- your consciousness-of-self --- and you have the understanding of what the alter ego is. This constant companion, (what I call The Companion Other) is your own awareness of yourself. It is your awareness of your own consciousness. This is an overarching receptivity. You are self-receptive to the reality that you are considering who and what it is your are. And you are following, or processing your own responses to the nature in your considerations. But the nature of your responses are different from what you first considered. There is a displacement in modality and this is of concern because we are out of balance with ourselves. How do we correct this and restore cognitive equilibrium within ourselves?
